Have you learned the basics of backwards course design in a previous Course Design Institute? Are you teaching a new course next year? Or ready to redesign one you’ve already taught?
Interested in aligning the components of your course to intentionally foster significant student learning?
This goal of this event is to capture what is valuable about “CDI 1.0” (e.g., carving out time for course planning, getting feedback and ideas from faculty peers and CTL staff), but with a lower time commitment. So come and join colleagues from across campus in a multi-day working institute (3 mornings) designed to jump start your course design process.
During the institute, participants will:
- Attend and participate in all three half-days (9am – noon) of the institute
- Do some course design work in preparation for Day 1 and in between the three meetings.
- Make a plan for teaching and learning activities, assessment of student learning, and providing student feedback in the target course.
Participants will have time to focus on enhancing student learning in one particular course. Participants will also benefit from collegial conversations and brainstorms with faculty from across campus. Participants receive a stipend of $175 plus benefits.
Anyone who has participated in a previous Course Design Institute (now CDI 1.0) is eligible to apply for CDI 2.0!
