About Us

The Center for Teaching and Learning was founded in July 2006 with the vision that it be the nucleus of a university culture that values teaching and learning. The department reports to the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Studies in the Provost’s Office. The Center promotes superior teaching and scholarship that mutually enhance one another for the benefit of students, faculty, and the community. It fosters dialogue, scholarship, innovation, and excellence in learner-centered strategies. The CTL aims to support, promote, and enhance teaching effectiveness and to facilitate engagement in student learning.
