eTextbook Authoring Bootcamp
About the Program
Ten Boise State faculty from a variety of disciplines, ranging from World Languages to Engineering, are currently participating in the first ever eTextbook Authoring Boot Camp, sponsored by the Center for Teaching and Learning.
The faculty have teamed up with instructional designers Amber Hoye (World Languages) and Lana Grover (The IDEA Shop) to create custom eTextbooks tailored to the needs of their courses. The eTextbooks will be offered free of charge to students and will consist of engaging, beautifully designed content including multimedia, interactive activities and built-in assessment tools.
Participants will graduate from the boot camp with the knowledge, experience and confidence to convert existing materials and to create new materials in an eTextbook format. These materials will create a student experience that is effective and accessible, while taking advantage of the unique characteristics of interactive eTextbooks and mobile devices.
The eTextbook Authoring Boot Camp will be facilitated during the fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters, with an official rollout of the eTextbooks scheduled for fall 2015.
